ARMA is a nonprofit organization, funded by member fees. Contributions from symposia and workshops are also used to defray operating costs. Benefits of membership include discounts on ARMA-sponsored events, including the annual US Rock Mechanics/Geomechanics Symposium, subscription to the ARMA newsletter, discounts on materials through the OnePetro digital library, and access to member-only content on this website.

Member dues can be paid annually or as a one-time fee for a lifetime membership. In addition to the other benefits of ARMA membership, individual and lifetime members receive membership in the International Society for Rock Mechanics for the duration of their ARMA membership.
